This month, Where Next visits Nashville, Tennessee with Zeitlin SIR Managing Broker, Stephanie Brooks. The SeattlebyDesign team invited Stephanie to share insights with us about what makes Music City such a special place.
For many years Nashville has attracted employers from all over the United States. The moderate weather, low taxes, affordable housing market, and abundant recreation has turned many a Northerner into a Southerner! Four quintessential seasons and friendly people provide a welcoming city in which to live, work, and play. With over 20 four-year colleges and universities, we are known as the Athens of the South. We’re the home of Vanderbilt University, Belmont University, Lipscomb University, and Tennessee State University.
Tennessee is truly the Volunteer State and the past year has reflected the culture of taking care of others. Last spring, a tornado ripped through East Nashville, and the next day citizens created workforces to cut trees, helped residents find new shelter, formed massive clean-up crews, and gave of themselves to the benefit of their neighbors. It’s who we are. And you best believe that our REALTOR© community rushed to action during this time of need!
The current housing market is up 12-15% from last year. Covid-19 hasn’t slowed us down but has brought people closer in a city of hope, care, and kindness. Healthcare, technology, finance, education, and auto industry companies have all found a new and successful place to call home for their company and employees.
