Is Seattle One of the Coziest Cities in the Country?

Can You Guess The Coziest City In America? You Might Be Surprised.

With today’s temperatures in the Midwest and East lower than most of Antarctica’s (and in some places, Mars!) it’s tempting to consider relocating. But no need to look as far as the South Pole — the makers of Honeywell Infrared Heaters tapped consultants at Environmental Health & Engineering for a study on the coziest cities in America. The scientists pored through city data on all things warm and fuzzy, from fireplace and portable heater usage to coffee shop proximity. (Stressful lifestyle scores and historical ambience also played a role).

Their results may surprise you: Sunny Los Angeles is absent (what’s not cozy about an 82-degree Christmas?) as is Portland Maine (home of L.L. Bean and their ever-warm blankets), and Burlington (rolling hills and a brick Main street—shouldn’t that be enough to bring it to the top 10?).
